Well, another three days of weights - shoulders, back and legs, no problems with the bonsai!  Also more walking than should be allowed by a mortal man, hills, big hills too - all good though, Post op has not been too bad at all - although there have been  a few exercises that I have not been able to do.

I demolished a quick shoulder workout on Friday without too much trouble.  The hardest part of the procedure, as I was training with myself, was getting the dumbells into position for shoulder press.  You use your core and abs quite a bit there.  So I could not go as heavy as normal with the poundages, but still managed to get a good feel in the muscle.  So basically managed a standard shoulder routine, just with not as much weight, so threw in a few extra reps.

Saturday was back day, and here was the first real hiccup.  Pulldowns and chinups.  Not a chance for chins, and had to set the weight loooow for the pulldowns.  The feel of the stretch through your abs just horrible, and with the strength their at the moment of a new born baby, I'm not going to be straining too hard here, five days after the knife!!  Still all the bent over rows and the like - no problems there, just, as per usual at the moment, lighter weights and higher reps.

This morning, or mid morning, as we did not walk this morning, and had our weekly sleep in, was legs.  All I can say is, who needs squats to kills your legs?  Leg extensions, hamstring curls, one legged squats, and smith machine squats (OK, so there were squats, but Smith Machine, so not free weights).  Lots of reps on the squats, and could still whack at heavy reps on the extensions and curls.  So was stoked about that.

So it's been a week tomorrow, and all that I have left to workout is chest - although two days after the operation when picking up Ness from the gym, I did a few bench presses and flies with no problem - just a little stretching of the ab area, which would have been the stitches - which have now dissolved.  I know that as we have now taken all the dressings off, and we have discovered a two inch slice over the top of my belly button.  Belly button area still swollen to buggery, but I can now poke and prod without worrying about opening myself up!!  And being a bloke, of course I am poking and prodding as much as I can - and I can't feel anything that shouldn't be where it shouldn't be anymore!!

Aaaand saw Deano on Saturday, looking good, healthy, and light!  Music now sorted, just a few weeks to go until the Waikato NABBA show - the first goal almost met now!
